CatPIC allows you to hide the byline, also called Post Meta or post info (author and date etc), from posts in certain categories. If you’re using WordPress for a business site, you may want to show the byline on your blog pages, but hide that detail on product pages.
This plugin will allow you to specify per category whether posts in that category will show the byline or not.
Note about non-Genesis themes
This was originally developed for Studiopress themes (Genesis) and for Genesis child themes you simply have to activate the plugin and it will work. To make it work on non-Genesis themes, please follow these instructions to update your theme – hide WordPress author and date on non-Genesis themes.
1. Unzip into the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. On Multisite installations, do not use “Network Activate”, but activate it on each individual site as required.
3. In WP Admin, edit an existing category and tick the “Hide Post Info Top” checkbox under “Category Post Info Control”.
If you’re using the Geneis Framework (Studiopress), that’s all you need to do. If you view posts within that category now, they should not display the byline.
If you’re using any theme other than a Genesis child theme, you need to add the following into your theme’s content-single.php page.
4. Follow these instructions to make it work on non-Genesis themes
